Arts & Entertainment

Logan Downtown is home to a thriving, eclectic community of artists, musicians,
and galleries with a range of work. The Alliance supports local artists united by
a desire to promote art, theatre, and music for public and private enjoyment.

The Ellen Eccles Theatre (Capitol Theatre) intricate neoclassical architecture
was restored, and a piece of Utah history was preserved and re-opened in 1993.
Despite years of disregard and decay, a long-forgotten structure reclaimed its
glory. The 1100 seat theatre now bears the name of a daughter of Utah pioneers,
wife of Utah industrialist David Eccles and one of Logan's prominent citizens,
Ellen Eccles and is home to the world-class Utah Festival Opera & Musical
Theatre.

With a gift to Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre from Larry H. Miller, the
beautiful and renowned Utah Theatre in the heart of Downtown is currently
under renovation. First known as the Roxy, this historic art deco theatre is
ornately painted and is the only movie theatre with a balcony in the city.

Press Release

Organization Development

The Organizational Development Committee works to bring in the financial
resources and volunteer expertise that the Alliance needs to help our community
achieve its goal of fully revitalized districts.

To make a financial contribution to the economic development of Logan
Downtown, please contact us. You don’t have to live in Logan, or own property in
Logan to be a friend of Downtown.

If you are interested in helping out as a volunteer, click here.

The Alliance has just one employee, so volunteers are the lifeblood of our
organization. From idea to execution, volunteers are at the center of every
project we take on.

Design Development

The Design Development Committee works to make Logan Downtown a more
beautiful, inviting, and environmentally sustainable place to spend time as it
reclaims architectural heritage and creates pedestrian friendly spaces with
redesigned streetscapes.

With specific attention to the Arts & Historic Districts, an exciting revitalization
is underway. Stately old storefronts that were vacant not so long ago are
now home to professionals, salons, boutiques, restaurants and shops. The
streetscapes have been redone with period lighting, furnishings, and fresh
paintings. Classic old buildings are being returned to their former glory. Enjoy
the Arts & Historic Districts and get a sense for them in our architecture.

Market Development

The Market Development Committee works to build our customer base via
marketing efforts, promotional campaigns, special events and other strategies.

This committee’s mission is focused squarely on the goal of drawing customer
traffic to our downtown districts.
